Thyriod
Thyroid disorders are conditions that affect the thyroid gland, a butterfly-shaped gland in the front of the neck. The thyroid has important roles to regulate numerous metabolic processes throughout the body. Different types of thyroid disorders affect either its structure or function.
The thyroid uses iodine to produce vital hormones. Thyroxine, also known as T4, is the primary hormone produced by the gland.
The function of the thyroid gland is regulated by a feedback mechanism involving the brain. When thyroid hormone levels are low, the hypothalamus in the brain produces a hormone known as thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH) that causes the pituitary gland (located at the base of the brain) to release thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). TSH stimulates the thyroid gland to release more T4.
Since the thyroid gland is controlled by the pituitary gland and hypothalamus, disorders of these tissues can also affect thyroid function and cause thyroid problems.
There are specific kinds of thyroid disorders that includes:
  Hypothyroidism
 Hyperthyroidism
 Goiter

1)HYPOTHYROIDISM(underactive thyroid) is a condition in which your thyroid gland doesn't produce enough of certain crucial hormones. Hypothyroidism may not cause noticeable symptoms in the early stages
A condition in which the thyroid gland doesn't produce enough thyroid hormone. Hypothyroidism's deficiency of thyroid hormones can disrupt such things as heart rate, body temperature and all aspects of metabolism. Hypothyroidism is most prevalent in older women.
Symptoms :
Whole body: fatigue, lethargy, or feeling cold
Developmental: delayed puberty or slow growth
Hair: hair loss or drynesss

2)HYPERTHYROIDISM describes excessive production of thyroid hormone, a less common condition than hypothyroidism. Symptoms of hypothyroidism usually relate to increased metabolism. In mild cases, there may not be apparent symptoms. Symptoms and signs of hyperthyroidism can include:
Tremor
Nervousness
Fast heart rate
Fatigue
Intolerance for heat
Increase in bowel movements
Increased sweating
Concentration problems
Unintentional weight loss

A person with hyperthyroidism should avoid eating excessive amounts of iodine-rich foods, such as:
fish and shellfish.
seaweed or kelp.
dairy products.
iodine supplements.
iodized salt.
food products containing red dye.
egg yolks.
blackstrap molasses.
3) GOITRE

Abnormal enlargement of the butterfly-shaped gland below the Adam's apple (thyroid).A goitre commonly develops as a result of iodine deficiency or inflammation of the thyroid gland.
Symptoms:
Neck: lump or swelling
Also common: coughing, fast heart rate, inability to tolerate heat, shortness of breath, throat tightness, underactive thyroid, or weight gain.
What causes goitre?
The most common cause of goiters worldwide is a lack of iodine in the diet. In the United States, where the use of iodized salt is common, a goiter is more often due to the over- or underproduction of thyroid hormones or to nodules in the gland itself.
How do you treat a goiter?
Lifestyle and home remedies
Get enough iodine. To ensure that you get enough iodine, use iodized salt or eat seafood or seaweed — sushi is a good source of seaweed — about twice a week. ...
Avoid excess iodine consumption. Although it's uncommon, getting too much iodine sometimes leads to a goiter.
What happens if a goiter is left untreated?
If hypothyroidism is not treated, it can lead to various complications, such as : Goiter: The lack of thyroid hormone causes constant stimulation of the thyroid gland that eventually leads to its enlargement. This is called a goiter. Goiter can cause cosmetic concerns and affect breathing and Swallowing
Food to be avoided

Highly processed foods: Hot dogs, cakes, cookies.
Foods that contain gluten: Bread, pasta, cereals, beer.
Soy foods: Tofu, tempeh, edamame beans, soy milk.
Cruciferous vegetables: Broccoli, kale, spinach, cabbage.
Certain fruits: Peaches, pears and strawberries.
Beverages: Coffee, green tea and alcohol — these beverages may irritate your thyroid gland.

Weight gain seems to be a given with thyroid disorders, especially hypothyroidism. The slowing metabolism contributes to the weight as well. Having a Eat small and frequent meals will help in Weight loss and later weight Management. Smaller and more frequent meals with balanced macronutrients support balanced blood sugar.

1. Limit Simple Carbohydrates

2. Go for anti-inflammatory foods

3. Make exercise a habit
